Workshop Cum B-Plan/Pitch Deck Competition

On 14.03.2024 “Workshop and Competition on business plan/ Pitch Deck” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Management Studies department and IIC of Francis Xavier Engineering College through offline mode in association with Department of Management Studies. The session was handled by Mr. Sadayappan Subramaniam, Entrepreneur, Mentor and Startup Speaker from 9:30 pm to 4:30 pm on 14.03.2024, 40 students and two faculty participated.

The program started with a welcome speech and introduction of the guest speaker. Felicitation address was delivered by Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director, IIC President of Francis Xavier Engineering College. The guest speaker started his speech explaining the business plan and the importance of preparing a well-defined and structured business plan with lot of examples. He divided the participants into different groups and gave some interesting task to involve them in the session and to make the session more interesting. The first session was the workshop of business plan. Students were enthusiastically made their team business plan. From that plan, guest speaker discussed about customer preferences and market ideas.

Then he discussed about drafting business plan and shared real examples. Then the participants presented their business ideas and their business plan. In the afternoon session chief guest addressed the positive points and area of improvements in presented business plan and then the competition was started. Six teams from Sathakathulla Appa College, St.Johns Arts and Science College, St.Xaviers College and UG students of Francis Xavier Engineering Colleges presented the business plan for their innovative products. Innovative Business ideas were presented based on the market research. A team from Xaviers College was runner up and a team from Sathakathulla Appa College won the first prize. Finally, certificates were distributed for all participants. Students gave positive feedback about the event such as interactive and informative session. To conclude this event Pavithra, I MBA student delivered the vote of thanks.
