On 21.03.2024 a session on " The role of Engineers in Developing a Startup- A Discussion" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of AI&DS. The session was handled by the resource person, Mrs. S. Poornam AP/AI&DS , Francis Xavier Engineering College. Sixty students from first year AI&DS and 1 faculty of AI&DS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs.P.Sooriabrabha, Assistant Professor,Department of AI&DS from 9.00AM –12.30PM.

The program started with the introduction of guest speaker Mrs. S. Poornam AP/AI&DS FXEC by Mrs.P.Sooriabrabha. The resource person discussed the role of engineers in developing a startup and how engineers serve as the driving force behind innovation and product development. The speaker explained that how an engineer can translate ideas into tangible products or services, utilizing their technical expertise and problem-solving skills acquired during their learning process. Engineers act as the backbone of startups, contributing to the development of software platforms, designing hardware solutions, and building scalable innovative products. Their ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams fosters effective collaboration and facilitates the rapid iteration necessary for startup growth. Finally the speaker said that the engineers are instrumental in shaping the technological foundation of startups and positioning them for success in competitive markets. Through this program, participants showed keen interest in the concepts, methodologies and gave satisfactory feedback at the end of the session.
