On 28.2.2023 a session on “Entrepreneurial Skills for Prospective Entrepreneurs” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of IT. The session was handled by Mrs. Nancy Lydia, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 64 students from second year IT department and 1 faculty member participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. A.Jainul Fathima, Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 10.00 AM - 4.00 PM.

The resource person explained the entrepreneurial skills and qualities required to start and manage a business venture successfully. These skills are essential for aspiring entrepreneurs who want to turn their ideas into a profitable business. One of the key entrepreneurial skills include: creativity and innovation. Successful entrepreneurs are often innovative and creative, and they are always on the lookout for new and better ways to do things. Risk-taking: Entrepreneurs are willing to take calculated risks and make bold decisions, even when the outcome is uncertain. Leadership: Entrepreneurs must be able to lead and inspire their team members to achieve the company's goals. Strategic thinking: Entrepreneurs need to be able to think strategically and make long-term plans for their business. Financial management: Entrepreneurs need to have a good understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Marketing and sales: Entrepreneurs need to be able to market their products or services effectively and make sales to generate revenue. Communication and networking: Entrepreneurs must be able to communicate effectively with their team members, customers, and partners. They also need to build a network of contacts that can help them grow their business. Flexibility and adaptability: Entrepreneurs need to be flexible and adaptable, as they may need to pivot their business strategy in response to changing market conditions or other factors.

She also inspired the students by giving live examples for each of the entrepreneurial skills. The session was an interactive one and students raised few questions to clarified their doubts.
