On 25.08.2022 Entrepreneurship Development Cell of IT department and IIC organized a guest lecture on “Role of Accelerators in Entrepreneurship Ecosystem” through offline mode. The session was handled by Dr.R Suman, Assistant Professor, Chemistry, FXEC. The programme was presided by Dr.J.B.Shajilin Loret and jointly coordinated by Dr.L.Gandhimathi, EDC Coordinator of IT department. This program was organized for III year B.Tech students.

The resource person explained the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and the role of accelerator of in the development of startup. The speaker said that the accelerator play different roles and the leading roles in building and developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem are (1) establishing the connections between the entrepreneurial ecosystem's actors, (2) developing the specialist knowledge especially by providing official training in the basics of entrepreneurship ecosystem. Accelerators can be considered as factories for start-ups as they provide the necessary resources for an idea to become a business venture.

Entrepreneurs make use of the geographical and market conditions in an area to facilitate business activity. Accelerators provided potential entrepreneurs exposure to the business and technical experience required to operate and grow ventures. During his talk he insisted on important accelerators in Entrepreneurship Ecosystem. Accelerators now have multiple roles to build local entrepreneurial capacity, strengthen the networks, stimulate capital investments, and facilitate market connections while all the time trying to make a profit on their investments in innovative startups. However, they will only invest where they see a significant potential return on their investment. Through events and activities, the ecosystem enhances the chances of meeting like-minded entrepreneurs, potential investors, as well as suppliers and partners.
