On 14.08.2023 a session on “Prototype Development and Validation” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. The session was handled by a student entrepreneur Mr.Harries Pandi.P, IIIrd year Computer Science and Business Systems, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 09.30 AM - 12.30 PM. 59 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Ms.A.Arthy AP/CSBS. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.

The program started with the welcome address by Ms. A.Arthy, AP/CSBS Francis Xavier Engineering College. She started her welcome address by explaining the motto of IIC and the theme of IIC. She said entrepreneurship, startup, innovation and Intellectual Property rights are the major themes on which the IIC is organsing the seminars and workshops. She introduced a Student Entrepreneur Harries Pandi.P, IIIrd year FXEC.

The guest speaker Harries Pandi.P started the speech by explaining the concept of Prototype development and validation which are considered as the pivotal stages in the product development. He said that the success in this phase significantly increases the chances of developing a right product. He insisted all the students those who want to become Entrepreneurs in the future should focus on understanding their target market, how to develop a functional prototype, gathering user feedback, and iterating based on insights gained. He explained that by learning from challenges and adapting strategies, entrepreneurs can refine their ideas, create valuable products, and contribute to innovation in their respective industries. He discussed about the successful prototype development which involves a combination of creativity, technical skills, and a user-centered approach. He also delivered the essential step in the entrepreneurial journey to ensure that the final product meets user needs, addresses market demands, and stands a better chance of success in the competitive business landscape.

He also explained the process of Identifying a market need or problem to solve and to conduct a thorough market research to understand the target audience, competition, and industry trends and the several ways to refine the idea based on the insights gained. He insisted the upcoming future entrepreneurs to conduct user testing with a target audience to gather valuable feedback and how to analyze the user interactions, pain points, and suggestions to refine their prototype further. He explained the necessity in conducting marketing research He ended the session by using a quote "The entrepreneur always searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it as an opportunity." – Peter Drucker.
