On 15.12.2023 a session on " Expert talk on Process of Innovation and Critical Thinking" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. The session was handled by Mrs.A.Anitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai , from 01.30 PM - 04.30 PM. 50 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by A.Arthy AP/CSBS.
The program started with the welcome address by Ms.A.Arthy, AP/CSBS Francis Xavier Engineering College. She introduced the guest speaker Mrs.A.Anitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai .
The guest speaker Mrs.A.Anitha started the speech by presenting an introduction to the concept of innovation and critical thinking. She explained the concept and importance of of innovation and critical thinking. She said that innovation is not merely about groundbreaking inventions but encompasses a mindset that seeks continuous improvement and creative problem-solving. She discussed that cultivating critical thinking skills is essential for individuals to navigate the challenges of the modern world. She explained that Innovation is the process of creating and implementing new ideas, products, or methods that bring about positive change and improve existing solutions. It involves thinking outside the box and challenging the status quo.
In her detailed explanation of the innovation process, the speaker highlighted the importance of curiosity, experimentation, and adaptability. She said that, "Critical thinking” acts as the driving force behind innovation. It enables individuals to analyze situations, question assumptions, and explore unconventional solutions. She explained the importance of critical thinking which enables us to analyze complex problems, identify underlying issues, and develop effective solutions.
The students left the session with a renewed sense of purpose, armed with valuable insights that will undoubtedly shape their entrepreneurial journeys. This session served as a testament to the limitless possibilities that lie ahead for those who dare to dream and work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality.
