On 12.08.2023 a Guest Lecture on "Opportunities to earn through boutique" was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Computer Application. The Session was handled by Mrs.Mariyam Rizwana and entrepreneur, Afizah Boutique, and held at Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 10.00 AM - 12.30 PM. 60 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. K. Subbulakshmi AP/MCA This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the prayer & welcome address by Mrs. D. Angeline Ranjithamani HOD-MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College. She explained that entrepreneurship, interested in income opportunities related to operating a boutique and earning money, has introduced expert members and she also welcomes all the students and encourages them to listen. In an attempt to make the meetings more participatory, she also asked that all of the students ask more questions.
The guest speaker Mrs.Mariyam Rizwana started the speech by defining the terms and trademarks. She had created an awareness of why we need to consider the income potential in the reporting and managing a boutique industry and asked to take into account providing specialised styling services, holding fashion courses, or writing and marketing fashion-related e-books; Through sponsored content, affiliate marketing, and brand partnerships, income can be generated.
The Guest lecturer spoke about the objective of the boutique and how to emphasise the shop There are some platforms to use., Social media influence: Create a strong online presence for your boutique by showcasing its products through unique content on platforms like Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok. For suggesting their products to your audience, brands could pay you.
Ebooks or Online Courses: Write and market ebooks or online courses on topics like fashion business, fashion history, or assembling a diverse wardrobe.
YouTube Tutorials: Produce instructional videos on fashion-related subjects like sarees, Kurthis, Chudi etc., Through sponsorships and YouTube advertising, you can earn money. She concludes the session by explaining to the students how to start online shopping. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the participants. The session ended with feedback from the students. The programme was organised by M.K. Subbulakshmi, AP/MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
