On 21.2.2023 a session on “Motivating the Young Minds Towards Entrepreneurship” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of AI&DS. The session was handled by Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC President, Francis Xavier Engineering college from 10.30 AM – 12.30 PM . 64 students from first year AI&DS and one faculty member of AI&DS department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Mrs.P.Sooriabrabha, Assistant professor, Department of AI&DS.

The program started with the introduction of guest speaker Dr.Lourdes Poobala Rayen by Mrs P.Sooriabrabha, Assistant professor, Department of AI&DS . The resource person explained the concept of entrepreneurship and its importance. He discussed the positives and negatives of preferring employment and opting entrepreneurship as the career choice. He explained the time freedom, freedom of thinking, decision making and the financial freedom one can enjoy while opting the entrepreneurship as the career choice. He asked the students to think about the phenomenal growth of the startup companies such as Amazon, Swiggy, Zomato, Facebook, and Whatsapp during the last 10 years. To become an entrepreneur the resource person asked the students to give solution at least for one problem from the social domine. During this session he motivated the students to start the entrepreneurial venture to fulfil the dreams. He motivated the students to think big and think out of box so that one can identify the un tapped opportunities to become a successful entrepreneur. He also gave lot of examples of business opportunities which can be explored further to identify the right one.
