Introduction to Neuro Linguistic Programming and Awareness to Kickstart Entrepreneurship

On 26.03.2024 a session on "Introduction to Neuro Linguistic Programming and Awareness to Kickstart Entrepreneurship" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Electronics and Communication Engineering department from 1.30 PM to 04.30 PM. The session was handled by Ms. Pavithra Sermaraj Konar, Owner of Vaniha The Label, International Certified NLP practitioner, Mumbai and Er. Muthu Raman A, Startup Entrepreneur, Founder and CEO - Kasadara Tech, Founder & Chief Design Officer - Reality Studio, Digital Marketing Manager at Frigate.ai. 56 students and 1 faculty participated. This event was coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, IIC President.

The program started with the welcome address of Dr R Prem Ananth, he welcomes the guest speakers. He said, we have two guest speaker one NLP practitioner and another Startup Entrepreneur, they came here to provide foundational knowledge about NLP techniques and how they can be applied to enhance entrepreneurial skills and mindset. He also welcomes all the students and requested the students to be more interactive and make the session more useful.

The guest speaker Startup Entrepreneur Er. Muthu Raman A, started the session and share his entrepreneurial ventures and achievements. He narrated his entrepreneurial journey, including the inception of his ideas and ventures. He also discussed the challenges faced when he was a student entrepreneur, such as time management, financial constraints, balancing academic responsibilities and shared personal anecdotes and lessons learned from overcoming obstacles. He also gave tips for effective time management and prioritization of tasks. The guest speaker speech creates an awareness and motivation among the students.

The next guest speaker NLP practitioner spoke about the basic principles and concepts, including the relationship between mind, language, and behavior and also explains how NLP techniques can be used to reprogram thought patterns and behaviors of an entrepreneur. She discussed how NLP techniques improve communication skills, such as rapport building and active listening, essential for networking and negotiations in entrepreneurship. Strategies for overcoming limiting beliefs and building confidence and resilience among entrepreneurs. Visualization and goal-setting exercises to clarify entrepreneurial objectives and motivate action. She also quoted a case study highlighting successful entrepreneurs who have utilized NLP principles to achieve their goals. She concluded the session and said how NLP techniques cultivate the growth-oriented mindset, to overcome challenges, seize opportunities and achieve success in their entrepreneurial endeavors
