On 25.07.2022 the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organised an “Interaction with Start-up Mentor”. The resource person was Mr.Patrick Amalraj, CIO, McBitss Solutions LLC,USA. He is also startup founder at Alchemist Accelerator in Silicon Valley, USA. A US based technology company having offices in over 10 countries worldwide. He also launches tech startups from all over the world into the US and is currently launching a Japanese AI company called TieSet(https://www.tieset.com/) TieSet builds AI solutions for edge IoT applications and autonomous cars. The interaction was arranged for the first year B.Tech Artificial intelligence and Data Science students wherein 25 students and 6 faculty members attended the program.

The resource person being the Mentor, Accellerator and Startup Founder in the Silicon Valley, USA, shared his personal experience in the field of mentoring the startups. He also explained the process of developing the startups and the procedures followed in US as regards startup in the Silicon Valley. He then explained the steps he is taking to accelerate the functioning of the startups in US. He explained the various opportunities to develop startups in Tamil Nadu. He cited few examples of the government initiatives for promoting startup in India through various schemes like Startup India, TANSIM and Startup Tamil Nadu. Students raised lot of questions and the resource person gave explained all the queries raised by the students with few examples from India and US. All the students participated in the program benefitted through this program. The resource person promised to continue this even after going back to US through video conferencing. The program was coordinated by Mrs. P. Sooriabrabha, EDC Coordinator, AP/AI&DS.
