On 28th February 2024, Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with Department of Civil Engineering organized National Science Day: Indigenous technologies for Viksit Bharat. The resource person for the program was Mrs.R.Swetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli. 42 civil engineering Students attended the program. The session was coordinated by Mrs. P. Raja Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of civil engineering, FXEC.

The resource person welcomes the participants to the seminar for the National science day. She stated the origin, theme, historical significance and celebration purpose of the national science day. She also mentioned elaborately about the significance of the national science day and its four important points such as commemorates a Groundbreaking Scientific Discovery: The day celebrates the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman, a significant milestone for Indian science. Recognizes the Contributions of Scientists: It honours the achievements of Indian scientists and their contributions to scientific progress. Promotes Scientific Temper: The day promotes the development of a scientific mindset and encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Encourages Youth to Pursue Careers in Science: National Science Day aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and researchers.

She also added that “India has been transformed on many fronts and is ready for take-off”. A massive expansion in social and economic infrastructure through policies and schemes in past years such as Samagra Shiksha and expansion of Universities, IITs, IIMs, Medical and Nursing Colleges, Skilling (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana), and many more. She explained the importance of healthcare sector, transforming rural india, mobile phone and internet, transportation network, science & technology and dpi, demographic dividend and demonstrated quantum leap capabilities in the development of India in all aspects. She also deliver that the concept and the importance of the standard operating Procedure (SOP) for the young students, and how to follow the same.

The students asked many questions and it was answered by the resource person.
