On 13.03.2024 a session on "How to plan for startup and legal and ethical steps" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Information Technology. The session was handled by Mr.S.David Blessley, Assistant Professor - Department of Mechanical Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 2.00 PM - 4.00 PM. 59 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Mr. F. Richard Singh Samuel AP/IT.

The program started with the welcome address and introduction of the guest speaker. The speaker explained the startups and the importance of startups. He highlighted the examples of successful Indian startups. He also gave information about the problem identification and development of innovative product to address the gap in the market. The resource person gave number of live examples for the problems already exists in the social domine. On the legal front, the guest speaker stressed the importance of selecting the correct business structure, securing the business name, registering the company, and obtaining all necessary licenses and permits, alongside understanding tax implications. Ethically, he underscores the importance of building a business that prioritizes social responsibility, ethical labor practices, consumer privacy, and environmental sustainability. He also highlighted the critical nature of protecting intellectual property rights, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations, and fostering transparent and fair dealings with all stakeholders. His guidance is instrumental for entrepreneurs aiming to navigate the complexities of starting a business while maintaining legal and ethical integrity. The speaker said that the path to building a resilient and respected business is paved with legal diligence and ethical integrity, guiding principles that serve both as a shield against unforeseen challenges and a beacon towards sustainable success. The participants interacted with the guest speaker and gathered lot of information and benefitted a lot.
