Guest Talk on “Startup Avenues in the Export of Aloe Vera”

On 1.7.2022 a guest talk was organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution lnnovation Council in association with the Department of Master of Computer Applications on the topic “Startup Avenues in the Export of Aloe Vera”. The Session was handled by Dr.Subramania Bala Jehurun, AP/MBA, Francis Xavier Engineer College, Tirunelveli. The Guest Talk was organized for the MCA students. from 3.00pm – 4.00pm.

The resource person said that Aloe vera is the most profitable farming worldwide. It is used in different sectors, such as the medical industry, cosmetic industry, food industry, and many more. The aloe vera cultivation needs less water and maintenance. Aloe vera business can be done by selling the plant leaves or extracting and marketing the juice. He also listed few benefits of aloe vera that don't depend on the mercury rising such as 1) It's Anti-Ageing 2) It fights Acne 3) It Reduces Plaque 4) It's Hydrating 5) It's Moisturising 6) It Boosts Digestion 7) It Soothes Razor Burn 8) It Lowers Blood Sugar.

The resource person highlighted the studies that have shown that aloe gel might be effective in treating skin conditions such as Psoriasis, Seborrhea, Dandruff, Minor burns, Skin abrasions, Skin injured by radiation, Herpes sores and Acne. He identified the opportunities which are available by producing value added products using the Aloe Vera. He underlined the financial support provided by the government to develop startup. 30 students and 2 faculty members were actively participated in the session. All the students were benefited by this session talk.
