Guest Lecture on Innovative Product Development

Innovative Product Development is the process of applying digital product engineering to a business’s innovation goals, thereby transforming innovative ideas into reality. The primary benefit of innovative product development is accelerating the process by which an innovative idea transitions to effective design and development of a marketable, innovative product. On 15.05.2023 a Guest Lecture on "Innovative Product Development" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Computer Application. The Session was handled by Mr. V. Anto Joel, Founder CEO-Zenanvibe & Mr.L.Dharsan Kumar, Director-Zen Vibe, FXEC, Tirunelveli. A total of 60 students and 2 faculty members participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs.M.K.Subbulakshmi AP/ECE with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director. The welcome address was given by Mrs. Angeline Ranjithamani HOD-MCA.

The guest speaker Mr.V.Anto Joel defined the terms booking snacks at movie time in theatres, ERP in schools and Colleges, trade marks, etc.. He created an awareness on why we need to file a patent to safeguard innovations. The resource person said that the main objective of the guest lecture was to suggest steps for transforming innovations into proprietary assets, use IP information relating to patents and designs for further research and development in developing new products and processes and finally utilizing the IP information in the business development. During the second session, the guest speaker created awareness and explained the types of Intellectual Property Rights and each type with examples and for the design patent he explained with four arm walking sticks and its types. He demonstrated how to file a patent through online and offline mode. He listed the application fees for registering a patent and said that the Government of India has reduced the application fees to promote Innovation. He concluded the session by explaining how to start a business to students. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the Participants. The Session came to an end with the feedback of Students.
