On 25.1.2023 a session on “Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Business Operation Digitization” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of IT. The session was handled by Ms. S.Agnes Joshy, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Francis Xavier Engineering College. The students from first year IT department participated in the program. The program was coordinated by Dr. L.Gandhimathi, Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 2.00 PM - 4.00 PM.

The program started with the introduction of guest speaker Ms. S.Agnes Joshy The resource person highlighted the meaning and role of entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial opportunities in business operation digitization. Entrepreneurial opportunity is the point at which identifiable consumer demand meets the feasibility of satisfying the requested product or service. In the field of entrepreneurship, specific criteria need to be met to move from an idea into an opportunity. It begins with developing the right mindset—a mindset where the aspiring entrepreneur sharpens their senses to consumer needs and wants and conducts research to determine whether the idea can become a successful new venture. The media frequently limits digitalisation as an IT or high-tech subject. In fact digitalisation is not a current IT trend or hype. It is a development which gives entrepreneurs enormous opportunities, but which also comes with a number of challenges. Use the opportunities provided by digitalisation to minimise the risks. When entrepreneurs address digitalisation, they pursue 2 strategic objectives namely

1.They want to exploit entrepreneurial opportunities to open up new markets, acquire new customers and develop new products and services.
2.They want to minimise risks which may arise due to disruptive new technology, new business models and new competitors in the digital world.

She also inspired the students with motivating stories. The session was an interactive one where the students were very participative in order to innovate the talents and clarify their doubts. Totally 57 students were participated in the session. The program was coordinated by Dr.L. Gandhimathi, EDC Coordinator of IT department. The session came to an end with the feedback of the students.
