On 26.10.2023 a Expert Talk on " Emerging Business Opportunities" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. The session was handled by Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director, President, IIC from 01.30 PM - 04.30 PM. 50 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by A.Arthy AP/CSBS.

The program started with the welcome address by Ms.A.Arthy, AP/CSBS Francis Xavier Engineering College. She started her welcome address by explaining the motto of IIC and the theme of IIC. She said entrepreneurship, startup, innovation and Intellectual Property rights were the themes of IIC.

The guest speaker started the speech by explaining entrepreneurship and the importance of entrepreneurship in improving the economic conditions of the people and business establishments. He said lot of business opportunities are emerging due to the changes in the technology. He said that entrepreneurs and existing businesses need to stay agile and adapt to new trends and also to leverage these opportunities to drive growth and innovation. He explained the key to success in these emerging sectors is a combination of innovation, a deep understanding of market needs, and the ability to adapt to evolving trends and consumer preferences. By identifying and seizing these opportunities, businesses can position themselves for long-term success. He discussed the various opportunities that created during COVID times and the growth of e-commerce continues to be a prominent trend, with increasing numbers of consumers opting for online shopping.

He explained a comprehensive list of government assistance programs designed to nurture and support startup initiatives, including initiatives like startup seed money and the startup India financial scheme. He emphasized that a significant number of entrepreneurs lack awareness of the diverse financial aid opportunities made available by the government and various financial institutions. He also elucidated the key nodal agencies responsible for administering these financial aids and outlined the application procedures for aspiring startups to access this financial support. The engagement between the students and the expert was incredibly inspiring for all attendees. The session concluded with students providing their feedback. The students left the session with a renewed sense of purpose, armed with valuable insights that will undoubtedly shape their entrepreneurial journeys. This session served as a testament to the limitless possibilities that lie ahead for those who dare to dream and work tirelessly to turn those dreams into reality.
