On 15.03.2024 a “Discussion on Successful Indian Startup companies” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The session was handled by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, Assistant professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College from 1.30 PM – 4.30 PM. 40 students and 1 faculty participated. This event was coordinated by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha AP/EEE & Mr. S. Selvakumar.

The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. M. Mary Sumitha, Assistant professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Francis Xavier Engineering College. She started her welcome address by explaining the motto of IIC and the theme of IIC. She explained the purpose of organising this discussion on Indian Startup Companies. She also gave the Introduction to Startup Ecosystem, Key Success Factors for Startups, Challenges Faced by the Startups, Government Initiatives and Future Trends and Opportunities. She encouraged the students to share information about startup companies.

Danil and his team explained what is the difference between stat-ups and business. Kavitha and her team discussed about Swiggy and how the swiggy works and they explained the challenges faced by Swiggy in the initial days. Pushpa and her team discussed about Dream 11. Shafeega and her team discussed about the strategies followed by the Indian startups. Samsu and her team presented the initiatives of Paytm and how they are generating their revenues through Paytm. Ajitha and her team explained about history of Ola and growth of Ola with lot of live examples. Hema and her team discussed about Meesho. They shared some information about the functioning of Meesho and their growth initiatives. The participants raised few questions which were clarified by the students with examples. Mrs Mary Sumitha moderated the discussion and shared her views about the startup and the role played by the startups in developing the Indian Economy.
