On 27.06.2022 a motivational talk was arranged by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of IT department and IIC on “Angel Investment: An Opportunity for the Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” through offline mode. The session was handled by Dr.A Jainual Fathima, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, FXEC. The programme was presided by Dr.J.B.Shajilin Loret and coordinated by Dr.L.Gandhimathi, EDC Coordinator of IT department. This program was organized for II year B.Tech students.

The resource person explained the role of angel investor in developing the startups.During her talk she insisted on the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs during the early startup stage. She also said that Angels play a vital role in developing start-up and the support during the early- stage businesses. They not only provide fund for starting the startups but also provide mentoring support for mobilizing the funds and managing the funds effectively. Many of them are primarily driven by the excitement of getting involved with early- stage ventures, helping to do deals and sharing their knowledge. However, they will only invest where they see a significant potential return on their investment. Angel investors do not use a fully compensatory decision model wherein they weight and score a large number of attributes. Strong angels typically have many or all four of the following characteristics such as not just committed to raising capital, they are proactive network activators, they push for brand awareness and they provide financial capital.

She also inspired the students by citing number of examples for the Angel Investors and the role played by them in the development of startups. The session was an interactive one where the students were very participative and clarified their doubts. 40 students participated in the session.
