On 28.07.2023 a Leadership Talk on “Innovative mind set: A Seedbed for Start-up” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems. The session was handled by Dr. A. Jainul Fathima, Associate Professor, Information Technology, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli from 01.30 PM - 04.30 PM. 63 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was coordinated by Dr.T Manimozhi AP/CSBS.

The guest speaker Dr. A. Jainul Fathima started the speech by defining the success of start-ups which was deeply rooted in the cultivation of an innovative mindset among entrepreneurs. She discussed how creativity, problem-solving, adaptability, customer-centricity, risk-taking, continuous learning, collaboration, agility, experimentation, and long-term vision collectively contribute to the growth and prosperity of start-ups. She explained the significance of cultivating an innovative mindset as the foundation for start-up success and how it paves the way for transformative journeys. She also explained how an innovative mindset encourages the generation of original and novel ideas, by providing the basis for innovative products or services. She said that objective of the workshop is to cultivate an innovative mindset as a seed bed for start-ups to create a strong foundation that fosters creativity, adaptability, and a problem-solving approach among entrepreneurs and also an innovative mindset serves as a guiding principle to propel start-ups towards success.

She explained the key Characteristics of an Innovative Mindset by defining the groundwork for the success of start-ups and included the various steps such as Creativity and Idea Generation, Fearlessness in the Face of Challenges and also Customer Empathy: which involves understanding the pain points and desires of customers, leading to the development of products or services that truly resonate. She inspired the students to embrace an innovative mindset and embark on their entrepreneurial journey with a vision to change the world through your start-up endeavors. She also encourages them to think outside the box and recognize potential areas for growth and development. The interaction between the students and the resource person was highly motivating to all the participants
