DAWN’S SIM’16-17(09.02.2017)
The Inaugural of the DAWN’S SIM’16-17 has been celebrated on 09.02.2017 at 9.00 am in Francis Xavier Engineering College auditorium; APJ Block. Ms.J.Frieda III MCA welcomed the gathering.
The chief guest, Mr.MEENAKSHINATHAN, Project Associate, Cognizant was introduced by Mr.D.Stanley, Assistant Professor, MCA department. The presidential address has delivered by the principal Dr.V.ILANGOVAN, who quoted the needs of conducting competitions in colleges.
Mr.MEENAKSHINATHAN was the chief guest and he highlighted the benefits of such associations within the college campus and revealed his memories as Alumni of MCA department.
Mr.Krishna Kumar Administrative Officer of SCAD GROUP of INSTITUTIONS, and all the Professors of MCA department participated in the association function. Mrs.S.Princy Suganthi Bai Head and Association Incharge of the department well organized the function in a grand manner.
More than 482 students from various Arts & Science colleges, in and around Tirunelveli, have actively participated in the symposium competitions. Finally the vote of thanks was delivered by V.KOKILA III MCA.
“Youth Awakening day”( 27.10.2016)
On behalf of DAWN’16, our department has conducted an elocution contest on 27.10.2016 for our department students to celebrate the “Youth Awakening day” as directed by our Government in the remembrance of Dr.A P J Abdul Kalam birthday. Sijumon Joseph of II MCA won the first prize in the contest.
DAWN is a name given to the student’s associationofMCA Department. The DAWN was created mainly for the extended activities of MCA students in Francis Xavier Engineering College.
To encourage and entertain the student community, DAWN association joined its hand withmanagementof Francis Xavier Engineering College by providingchanceto conduct and attend the competitions, workshops, symposiums etc…

Poem writing and Drawing competitions(27.7.2016)
The DAWN association of department of Computer Application conducted Poem writing and Drawing competitions on 27.7.2016 for the MCA students in remembrance of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam.

Festival celebrations
Many festivals have religious origins and entwine cultural and religious significance in traditional activities.
The religious festivals Christmas, Diwali, and Milad un Nabi were celebrated on 27.10.2016 in our department with sweet distribution and greetings.
Dr. A.P.J.ABDUL KALAM MEMORIAL CONTEST ’16-17(27.01.2017)
IQ contest (A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Memorial Contest) for Under Graduate Final Year Students was conducted on 27.01.2017. More than 1000studentswereparticipatedfrom10 colleges and the toppers will be honor in the month of March 2017.
DAWN("Deterministic Application Warriors for Nation") is the department association and it organizes various competitions and programs that include a National Level Symposium SIM (Symposium for Innovators by Motivators) for B.Sc and MCA students of other colleges, a technical meet FES (Finding Entrance for Success) for UG students to encourage them for higher education.
Symposium was organized on 15.09.2015. Chief Guest : Mrs.T. Nageswari MCA.,- Alumni - 2007batch Anna University I rank (System Analyst, InApp InformationTechnologyPvtLtd.,Technopark, Trivandrum).
