IT Department Winter Skill Training

The skill training for Second year B.Tech IT students was inaugurated along with innovation club on 23.11.2018. Dr.Lourdes Rayen presided the inauguration and he emphasized about creative, innovative thinking and encouraged the students to spark out with different ideas for social issues.

Day 1 - Day 3: The students were imparted the basic skills  of computer training for 3 days. The students were trained on Computer system assembling, System servicing, OS installation ,MS – Office (MS Word, MS-Excel, MS powerpoint), Training on Basic Network Terminologies, Networking basics, Cable crimping, Cabling, Data transfer with two systems, Networking systems with switches, Networking commands, simple Trouble shooting and basic Arduino programming.

Day 4 – Day 7: The students were trained on the basics of C language, Data Types, variables, Declarations, Operators, I/O statements, built –in functions, Problem Solving, Logics , Decision making , Looping, Arrays, Strings, Structures, Report generation and Programming exercises.

Quiz was conducted as a preliminary assessment. 

Day 8 – Day 10: The students were trained to define the problem statement and all the teams had documented the problem description for their project. The students were trained to design overall project flow using flowcharts and report writing. The students had successfully developed the project and few projects were reviewed by Dr.S.Balaji, Prof(T&S).

Projects – QUIZ game, Hangman Game, CGPA calculator, Library Management System, Banking System, Phone Book application were few prominent projects developed in C by the students.

Around 43 students were benefitted out of this training session.
