Guest Lecture

Penetration testing is a security exercise where a cyber-security expert attempts to find and exploit vulnerabilities in a computer system. On 31st Oct, 2022, a guest lecture was conducted on the topic “Penetration Testing in Cyber Security” and was organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Computer Society of India for the III year Computer Science and Engineering Students. Er. Aswathy Mohan (Alumni), Research Faculty, IITK elct academy was the resource person for the guest lecture. Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, HOD/CSE welcomed and introduced the resource person. Dr. R. Ravi and Mrs. Bhagylakshmi of CSE Department honoured the resource person. The resource person thanked the management for giving her this opportunity. The speaker talked about penetration testing and ethical hacking certifications and taught about the various stages and types in penetration testing. She also explained about the tools used for penetration testing and explained about the certification in ethical hacking and also the purpose of doing certification in ethical hacking. The guest lecture came to an end with a vote of thanks by Dr. R. Ravi, Professor/CSE. The programme was arranged and coordinated by Dr. G. Aravind Swaminathan, HOD/CSE under the guidance of Mr. S. Krishna Kumar, General Manager (Administration).
